Ktunaxa Word of the Week: ʔaknuqǂuǂam̓

Admin

kiʔsuk kyukyit ka aⱡa! Every week, our Aboriginal Head Start Coordinator Kayla teaches us a new word in the Ktunaxa language.

This week’s word of the week is ʔaknuqǂuǂam̓. This is the Ktunaxa word for bald eagle.

We often see ʔaknuqǂuǂam̓ soaring in the skies above our playground and garden at Little Badgers.

To hear how ʔaknuqǂuǂam̓ is pronounced, visit First Voices.
